National Pie Day
National Pie Day is a special day that is set aside to bake and cook all of your favorite pies. On this day, you are also encouraged to bake a few new pie recipes. And most importantly, it’s a day to eat pies! #NationalPieDay A great way to celebrate National Pie Day is to bake some pies and give them away to friends, neighbors, and relatives.
You never know, you may be starting a tradition of pie giving between your friends and family. The American Pie Council created this day simply to celebrate the pie. The first pies appeared around 9500 BC in the Egyptian Neolithic period or New Stone Age. The holiday was started in the mid-1970s by Boulder, Colorado teacher Charlie Papazian after he declared his birthday to be National Pie Day. National Pie Day, which is held annually on January 23, is now sponsored by the APC since 1986.
The American Pie Celebration began in 1986 to commemorate Crisco’s 75th anniversary of “serving foods to families everywhere.” The APC has run the APC National Pie Championships since 1995. The event is usually held in Celebration, Florida. The competition is open to amateur, professional, and commercial bakers. What is Your favorite pie?
